Metal matrix cermets and BMGMCs are unique materials where the addition of a second phase, consisting of a range of size classified ceramic particulates to industrial diamonds, impart novel characteristics by augmenting strength, modulus, stiffness, coefficient of thermal expansion, dynamic response e.g. fatigue and crack blunting properties, among others.
