Materials with AI
We innovate and design bulk nanocrystalline/amorphous materials and metal matrix composites with embedded fingerprints giving them the ability to relay information through controlled release of unique signatures, primarily electronic, as a packets of information. ATHENA is our smart materials platform. These novel materials can carry chemical tracers or flow-able electronics as part of the metal matrix which are released on dissolution. They can be used to reliably predict the extent of overall dissolution or corrosion, and can communicate this for remote monitoring.
While our vision is to embed sensing in the DNA of novel engineered materials, our mission is to create superior products in a variety of industries. We envision our smart offerings communicating with embedded repeaters and to wearable technologies for remote monitoring. Using this differentiated technology we endeavor to build intelligent products, such as, bio-absorbable structures: bones and implants with abilities for control release of medical drugs and tracers for mapping blockages and identifying tumors.
