
Robin Sowell
Biography
Robin Sowell is an honored member of DAMORPHE’s legal advisory board. She practices in the areas of corporate transactional law, health law, and complex business and general civil litigation.
Robin’s corporate transactional practice includes entity structure and formation, mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate transactions, and employment agreements, and litigation practice includes representation of businesses and individuals in various commercial disputes including breach of contract, fraud, business torts, and employment related matters.
She worked as in-house counsel for an energy company engaged in the exploration for, and development and production of natural gas for over eight years. Her experience includes oil and gas leases and surface exploration permits, 3d seismic data acquisitions and sharing agreements, joint operating agreements, and participation agreements. Her advisory experience includes drilling and exploration management, seismic data acquisition, policy and procedure review of pipeline and wellsite activities, risk management and insurance issues, pre-litigation dispute resolution and prevention of litigation.
Robin’s health law practice includes representing physicians, medical groups, and other health care entities with practice establishment and structure, practice management, development and contracting issues, merger and acquisition, litigation matters, and employment related issues. She also advises clients regarding regulatory compliance issues including fraud and abuse, STARK, HIPAA, quality assurance matters, and licensing issues.
Robin has been practicing law since 1994 and is licensed to practice in all state courts in Texas, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. She graduated Phi Kappa Phi from The Wichita State University with a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude in 1990, and received her law degree from South Texas College of Law in 1994. Robin is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Fort Bend County Bar Association (President-2018; Board of Directors-2016-2019), and Katy Bar Association.
