Tony Collins is an honored member of DAMORPHE’s technology advisory board.

He is currently the Director, Technology of Amega West Services, a Carpenter company. In his past role, before retirement from Schlumberger, Tony spent 36 years served in various capacities, in different divisions, leading and managing Quality Engineering, Testing Facilities, Inspection, New Product Development / Sustaining, Mechanical and Materials, among others. In his last role as advisor, Tony served as a global Engineering Advisor alongside supporting Design for Manufacturing and Sour Service communities for Schlumberger. He has extensive knowledge of mechanical properties of metallic and non-metallic materials, destructive / non-destructive testing, creep, fatigue and corrosion especially stemming from environments abundant in global oil and gas fields.

Tony has served in the capacity of Committee Chair of the American Petroleum Institute from 2007 till date, also Co-Chaired the Task Group on Drill Stem Elements (API Spec 7 and related). Additionally, he has authored many peer reviewed journal articles, delivered numerous invited lectures and presentations, globally and holds a multitude of patents and patent pending applications from mechanical, materials and electrical domains for oil and gas tools and technologies.

Tony received his B.A. and M.A. degrees in Engineering from Cambridge University, UK and MASc and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from the University of Waterloo.
